In 2023, NicaLove partnered to construct and open an animal shelter in Nicaragua to strengthen rescue operations and support the lifesaving work of our local animal welfare partners. The shelter was established to address the urgent needs of homeless and abandoned animals, providing a safe place where they can heal from the suffering they have endured. Through this collaborative effort, we are committed to alleviating their pain and expanding our collective impact.
Opened in February 2023, the shelter has the capacity to provide sanctuary for up to 300 rescued animals. This milestone was made possible through the dedication of our team, the support of our community, and close collaboration with Proyecto ARIEL. The facility serves not only as a place of healing and hope, but also as a shared resource that strengthens and amplifies the vital rescue and rehabilitation work happening on the ground.
Looking ahead to 2024, we are excited about the possibilities for thoughtful expansion as we work alongside our partners to increase capacity, enhance onsite programs, and alleviate even more suffering.
