Who?
NicaLove is a is an animal welfare organization serving animals and those who care for them in the most vulnerable communities in Nicaragua.
What?
NicaLove is building our first animal shelter on a 17-acre parcel of land in San Diego, Nicaragua. We are working in collaboration with Fundacion ADAN, our key Nicaraguan animal welfare partner. We are currently working on our master plan and timeline for the shelter. Phase 1 includes a road, a well and electricity.
Where?
San Diego is a rural farming community in Southwest Nicaragua, an hour from Managua. Our very first clinic was held in the neighboring community of Playa San Diego.
Why?
Simply put, we can serve more animals in need.
The building of this shelter will allow us to continue to work together, as a non-profit partnership team, and continue to rescue and rehabilitate animals, provide free wellness and sterilization clinics and reach hundreds of domestic and working animals in surrounding communities.
With the completion of this shelter, we will reach more animals in need by providing both, temporary and permanent shelter with a part-time veterinary clinic servicing our mission.
